Special Program:
Songs of the Cowboys

Join Matthew Sabatella and Chris DeAngelis for 'Songs of the Cowboys' at History Miami's Family Fun Day. The event is free-of-charge and one of the last weekend opportunities to explore the museum's Florida Cattle Ranching: Five Centuries of Tradition exhibition, which tells the story of one of Florida’s oldest and most important cultural activities. Cattle ranching in North America began when Spanish explorers introduced horses and cattle in the 16th century, and flourished in the hands of the Seminoles, Crackers, and other Floridians. Today, ranching is an essential economic activity that preserves many aspects of the natural landscape, protects water resources, and maintains areas used by wildlife or for recreation.

Family Fun Day is on the second Saturday of each month from 12:00PM to 5:00PM. Matthew and Chris perform from 2:00PM to 3:00PM on January 8, 2011.
