This is an annual concert hosted by the Peruvian band Kuyayky to benefit the children of their hometown, Jauja. All proceeds will be used to purchase toys, musical instruments, a family food basket, and Christmas breakfast for poverty-stricken children in the Central Andes of Peru.

Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band play traditional folk songs that celebrate Mark Twain's great American novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. It's part of the National Endowment for the Arts' The Big Read initiative, which is designed to restore reading to the center of American culture.

Definitely a show for all ages, though not a children's show per se, it will musically explore life on the Mississippi River and childhood in the time of Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Mark Twain.

The National Endowment for the Arts presents The Big Read in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and in cooperation with Arts Midwest. The Big Read brings together partners across the country, including Broward County Library, to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment.
